GameCommanderPro makes managing spells for different classes, while multiboxing, very simple, using its spell rotation creator.

How to create a spell rotation:
1) Click the "Action" button on the main GCP window.

Select "Rotations".

The rotation editor is a timeline designed to organize the order in which you want multiple characters to cast their spells.

You can zoom in and out and move along the timeline with the buttons in the lower left hand corner of the window.

2) Click on one of your character's names, this will open up your spell database.

Choose which spell you want them to cast. This will add it to the timeline next to their name.

Each spell you add to a character will be added to the end of there timeline.

If you click on a spell on the timeline movement arrows will appear, click these to move the spell back and forward on the timeline.

3) Now add spells for each of your characters.

Each of the black lines through the timeline display the ideal time to cast that part of the rotation.
If you don't want a character to cast add a spell called "DONOTHING" at the appropriate time.
If two or more spells start within a half second of each other they will be moved to cast at the same time, you can see this toward the end with "Smite" and "Fire Blast".

4) Once you are happy with you spell rotations, give it a name, hotkey (type the key name eg. F7, M, {ENTER}), and target, save it by clicking "OK"

This will create a bunch of commands, with hotkeys already setup, for you.

Each time you press the hotkey it will move one step forward in the rotation and cast the appropriate spells. You can skip the next part of the rotation by pressing ALT and the hotkey. SHIFT-hotkey will start the rotation from the beginning, and CTRL-hotkey will repeat the step you last cast. You can change any of these hotkeys in the advanced view, even give each step its own hotkey if you want more manual control.

Rotation Spell List

I was trying to set up a spell rotation but no spells from the selected charicter came up even after I selected the class. The first time I tried this I typed the spell name in and it did not save it or list it and the second time it wouldn't allow any keys through to type the spell name except space bar and back space. Any idea how I can fix this pls?

Thank you in advance!

You can import spells from

You can import spells from WoW. This is a 2 step process.

In WoW type "/gcp export" then "/rl" - it's easiest to use broadcast mode (default control-enter to start, <escape> to exit) for this.

Then click spells on the GCP menu. Click "Import" (your spells should appear), then "OK" to save and exit.

Next time you're in rotations, the spells will now appear.

Thank you very much! I feel bad I actually just saw that post in the forums and apologize for making you re-type the information. I am still not able to type anything in the box for rotations name or key though.

Stuck Key

There is currently a bug with broadcast mode being bound to CRTL-ENTER. It is not releasing CRTL so if you ever cant type just press and release CTRL first.

I created a healing spell

I created a healing spell rotation for one of my toons and the other I used the DONOTHING for. I named it and gave it the key bind m. I chose the healer for target of. I uploaded and /rl my ui. Unbound my m key on both toons wow keybind. Tried a few times to recreate my rotation and play around with different things but try as I might when I press m nothing happens, oh and when I hit OK the command page never appeared.

To make Healing rotations

To make Healing rotations your best bet is the heals wizard. The spell rotation editor sets a target so it will fail to cast if there isn't a target.
You could go into advanced view and edit the rotations commands and take out the "-target".

The Healing wizard will make a rotation that targets each of your characters, just select the spell you want in the rotation in order. These commands will be bound to f8-f12 by default.

What are you setting the

What are you setting the reset time too? This is in mili seconds so multiply the reset time you want in seconds by 1000.

I would set it to higher like

I would set it to higher like 3000 or else it will cast shield unless you pressing the key again within 1.5 secs.

reset timer ...?

Where do I enter a reset time? I can't find this option anywhere in the spell rotation editor.
And once I created one or two spell rotations, where would I find those for later editing (or deletion)?

You can open an existing

You can open an existing spell rotation in the rotation editor by clicking "File/Open"

The key reset time is created based on the cast time of the spells in the rotation.
To chance this:

  1. Click View/Advanced
  2. Select Rotations in the upper left drop down menu
  3. Double Click <RotationName>.Run in the list
  4. Change the number on the first line to the reset time you want (in milliseconds)
  5. Click Save

So I'm trying to set up a

So I'm trying to set up a spell rotation with two different class characters (hunter and mage)

I have two "donothing" spells at the start of the mage's rotation, and the hunter starts with hunter's mark, etc...

I load the rotation and everything seems fine until I go to use it. In sequence it opens up my skills, then my blizzard quest log, then my blizzard quest log map....

What am I doing wrong?

Did you do the upload?

It sounds like GCP and the GCP mod are out of line. (I assume the GCP mod is enabled for all toons)

GCP uses a client server mechanism where part of a command is executed by the GCP program and part by the GCP mod.

These two elements communicate by GCP main sending key strokes to activate GCP mod functions.

It essential, therefore, that whenever you make a change to a GCP command (note that GCP commands are created by making a spell, making a rotation, or running a wizard), you need to make sure the two modules use the same command mappings. This is what the upload does.

You do the by a 2 step process:

1) Upload from GCP
hit "upload" from the upload screen (the screen should appear when needed but you can click views/manual/upload to see this)
2) Download to the GCP mod (this happens on a UI reload)
type "/rl" to reload the UI (use broadcast mode to do all toons together)

Hope this helps.

If not, get back to me and we'll sort you out in an interactive session.

Phil

Milliseconds?

I bet a lot of users have unnecessary problems setting up the healing wizard because of the milliseconds thing. Happened to me too. After changing the rotation, healing spells wouldn't go off anymore - because i set the reset timer to "10" instead of "10000".
This is not user friendly. People just don't think in milliseconds. I was fortunate to remember this little piece of information, otherwise this situation could have caused a lot of needless frustration.

On a funny sidenote, I noticed it sometimes takes GCP a moment (or a restart) for changes to "sink in". After changing spells in the heals wizard and doing the usual upload/rl routine, F8 wouldn't heal my tank. Instead, one of my mages started casting something wierd. A few moments later, without me having changed ANYTHING, another press of F8 had the tank receive his proper healing ...
