Installed GCP yesterday and have yet to get it to work. Followed the getting started guide and clicking the 'do this first' option, logged in but the (i) for invite doesnt work, pressing (f) seems to set a few (not all) of my windows on follow.

I know the invite macro works because in advance settings when you click run, it brings up my talent window, so its the keybindings that are not working.

OK, so on the screen where you add spells, I created a dsp for Shadow Bolt, but I cant name it. pressing the keys do nothing. Pressing I think V pastes what I have in the clipboard, pressing backspace puts like squares in the box. Im using an English UK keyboard layout if that would have anything to do with it.

Also, those little name plates, 1 of mine are yellow and others are red. Whats the yellow mean?

Hope you guys can help me out

It sounds like the key

It sounds like the key intercept is not happening. Can you make sure that the GCP system is active (the active box is checked) and that the mouse is in a valid window (either a WoW window or some of the GCP windows)

If you watch the display in the bottom right corner of the GCP toolbar, you will notice a few numbers which change as the mouse moves around. The first 2 are mouse co-ordinates, and then there is a number in parenthesis. This number is the active window - if it displays -1, then the key intercepts are disabled because the system thinks you are over a non WoW window.

Can you check this for me and let me know if this is the issue?

One of the nameplates should be green - this is the current active character. The yellow is your "alt" character, which you can control by using the control key with any of the QWEASD keys. As you hover over each window in turn, the nameplate for that window should turn green. The "yellow" character is set by a GCP command, and defaults to the 2nd one.

Hello, No this isnt the

Hello,

No this isnt the issue, the number in the brackets is 1-4 over my wow windows, 0 over my desktop and -1 over GCP.

I just tried setting this up again and now pressing F in an alt window sets them to follow AND use the hearthstone I had bound to shift_H.

Pressing F in main does nothing, pressing F in alt gets 3 and 4 to follow. Pressing F in windows NOT main sets them to use the hearthstone, pressing F in main again unsets follow.

Oh I know I mentioned the follow alot there but I assure you nothing else works.

Also tried removing all mods.

We would like to see what is

We would like to see what is happening while you are using GCP. Would you like to start a remote session so we can see what you are doing?

Go to Support Chat

Message us and we will setup a remote session with you and run through the setup to make sure everything is running correctly.

Some further information

I spent many hours working with our latest user (Zwipple). His initial problems were with some strange permissions in Windows 7. We run Windows 7 on a test machine and saw no such problems. We changed GCP to put some files in a different location, and this fixed the issue.

We then found a similar problem to yours. It was caused by GCP being confused by linked folders - do you have linked folders?

We're releasing a new version today which will, amongst other things, not be confused by linked folders.

Hey, After some poking about

Hey,

After some poking about I managed to add a few actions BUT, they can only be added before logging in to the game, loggin out wont allow you to add anything either.

Basically, while logged in (have tried with GCP both active and not) I am unable to use the keyboard to input and characters into the spell name fields or macro name fields etc.

When I see you next online, I will contact you.

You might be getting a stuck

You might be getting a stuck key somewhere. Next time you try typing something press and release all of your SHIFT, ALT, and CTRL keys.

I have been using that but

I have been using that but been having a problem keeping the keybind for - set.

I have to run this macro everytime i login or do a /rl
<<ALL>>
Macro /script SetBinding("-","INTERACTTARGET")

the message in the Advanced page says this:
Err: Right > 5-->Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment: Right

I am pressing the 6 on the numpad but sometimes this makes me turn round in a circle. Where is says last special key, pressing the 6 comes up as RIGHT UP so a stuck SHIFT maybe?

Add the following to that

Add the following to that command:

Macro /scrpit SaveBindings(1)

Make the 1 a 2 if you save bindings per character rather than account.

If you want to get rid of the error look in you GameCommanderPro directory under Game Support and delete the .bas file. That error wont effect anyting.

Hey Phil, adding the extra

Hey Phil, adding the extra macro doesnt keep the keybindings saved. Also it may be unrelated but /gcp auto is always reset also, as I would like to process the quests myself.

Try setting then Interact

Try setting then Interact with Target binding manually on each character. On certain systems(we havn't figured out what causes it yet) you have to change it manually to get it to stick.

Go into wow settings and open key bindings.
Find "Interact with Target" and set it to "-"
Then /rl

Do this for each character in turn.
