Hi Phil and all. Love your Program so far.

I currently run 3 toons on PC1, and two more on PC 2.

The problem I run into, is I start PC2 on client, then Pc one, go to start a new profile.

I can enter in the information for the first three toons ok, However, when I go to enter in the last two (On PC 2) I keep getting the same HD's for PC one.

I do put the network address in the last two slots, have WoW shared with PC2.

For example,

First three accounts are on

I://Programfiles/World of Warcraft.

The last two should be on
\\NEtworkname\World of Warcraft

I changed my PC name here to Network name for security purposes.

I can basicly read one or the other, But it won't accept Two different locations to set up the toons.

any help is much appreciated.

Stephen

Networking

If you fill in a "remote machine name" GCP asks the remote copy for directory information. In other words, you're browsing the remote machine. The path is for the REMOTE gcp to find it's game folder, not the path from your main computer to the folder on your remote computer.

Example.

PC1 - browse to i:\programfiles\World Of Warcraft.
PC2 - browse to c:\program files\World Of Warcraft (use path as if you where on remote machine)

Hope this clarifies the situation.

Hmm, still no good. On

Hmm, still no good.

On Characters 4 and 5, when I switch them using the IP 192.168.2.3 for example, it also changes the Path for accounts 1-3.

For example,

1-3 I use the I: drive on PC one.
4-5 I use the C: Drive on pc two.

What happens, is I set up 1-3, everything is fine.
When I navigate to 4-5 It changes the drive for accounts 1-3.

Any suggestions?

I can put it in manualy by typing, But then I get a runtime error 91.

Does the slave GCP need to be on active or not to start? need to be active?

Thanks so much once again.

Stephen

EDIT. Full error message.

Runtime error 91
Objectvariable or With blockVariable not set.

Seems to happen when the last accound loads on PC2

I had the same problems with the drive path, but after unchecking the Auto Fill box (IIRC).

How did you solve the other error? I'm getting that on my second PC.

Both versions showing 1.2.11

Both versions showing 1.2.11 now, but same problem.

I get two characters into password, and it locks up.

Going to try and do a complete removal of the program and re-install from scratch.

Are you creating a new profile i'm thinking it could could now be something we changed when manually editing the ini file.

I would just try making a new profile.

Are you still getting the same error 91 around the same time?

I don't see the same errors, but about the 3rd or 4th character in my password, I get an application fault. I checked and I am running the same version on both. I have not done a complete reinstall.

Any suggestions?

Yes sir, I did try a new profile, Then I deleted the whole thing (even from the registry just to be safe), re-installed, and boom. IT closes down.

I don't have a second machine here to test it on. I think I know where the problem is but wont be able to fix it until tomorrow morning. I will do some extensive testing with networking tomorrow.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just posted the fix

Finally got my 2nd computer up (it was 3 behind on patches, so I had to copy on a new WoW folder - took 1 hr on a Gigabyte lan!)

Anyway, I got the same error. Took me about another hour to track it, then it was one of those "how could I have been so stupid" ones. It doesn't happen now.

While I was testing, also found fixed another issue which could have been a factor in the problems (sometimes GCP wouldn't recognize that 2 copies where on the same remote computer, so when a 2nd copy of the game was opened, it closed the link to the first)

I just did a "collect 10 of x" quest on 5 toons (read about 1 hours questing), with 2 toons on 2nd computer, and had no problems - if I can do that, it probably works. This bug was a pain, but at least I got a level out of it (RAF FTW).

Sorry it took so long to fix, but it was kinda buried deep in the low level keyboard handler.

Let us know how it goes with you.

Thanks for your patience

Phil

Better, but not quite there

Better, but not quite there yet. I am able to launch WoW on the remote PC OK, but I have to uncheck the Active box to type in my password (I haven't went the Auto Login route yet).

Broadcast does not work on the remote PC, so I have to manually hit Enter to login. Once I am logged in, I can Invite the group using the GCP hotkey and Jamba.

My remote toon does not respond to follow or jumping etc... Do I need to redo the layout?

Are they connected

Do you're remote sessions stay connected?

There should be a green "led" on the small selector window on your main, if its a red "led" then the link is broken.

Broadcast should work, if the links are good.

What times are you usually available?, a chat session my speed things along.

I got them to work, maybe it

I got them to work, maybe it was a order of doing things.

1 Launched GCP on remote, did not click Active.
2 Launched GCP on main, did not click Active.
3 Logged in to character screen on both PCs.
4. Clicked active on both PCs.
5. Broadcast, follow, jumping etc... works!

Now to go kill stuff and use my RAF bonus exp!

I typed to soon. It worked

I typed to soon. It worked for a few minutes, but I will lose the GCP client on the remote.

Perhaps a Live Support will get this finished. I'm available pretty much anytime. I'll check back when you are free. Which PC are we doing the Live Support on, remote or main?
