First, let me say that I think all of the videos are GREAT... the only problem is, that with a few minor exceptions, they are "show case" videos... and not tutorials.

I am new to multi-boxing (more or less), have limited Windows experience (coming from Mac due to lack of MB software), and ZERO programming skills. I have seen the threads in a few of the other categories, but I don't understand how to use that information.

Specifically, I would like to know how to input the code for a FTL team. I want to be able to change windows at the press of a key, but I don't understand how to use it.

  • Where does it go?
  • What do I need to change to make it specific for my machine / situation?
  • What key is best for setting it up?

Also, from what I was reading in the FTL-setup thread, the code posted is for changing on mouseover. Is there an existing code to dedicate hotkeys to each window? What I mean by that is this:

  1. Default view is my main with two on side, two on bottom (like Jeremy's videos.
  2. Pressing [F9] will set Alt 1 as leader, and put "main" in that position.
  3. Pressing [F10] will set Alt2 as leader, and put who ever was leader there...
  4. Etc... etc... etc

Getting this code running may be something that I have to use Support Chat for, but a video would save them the hastle.

Secondly, is inputting all "macro code" the same for GCP? I have seen other macro codes, but I don't know where to put them.

Run the Window Swap wizard this will make a command that will swap whichever window you mouse over with you current channel 1, and make your dps use the new character for targeting.

To set up a command to hotkey for each window separately:

You can make a new command by going into Views/Advanced. Click "Add" in the lower left and name your new command.

Enter the following:

Swap 1,<channelnumber>
<<All>>
Macro /promote <charactername>
Hit %`
Set ToonX, <charactername>
Translate ToonX,`,+`,^`,%`,^+`,%+`,%^`,%^+`
Hit %ToonX%
Chan 1

Replace <channelnumber> with the number of the channel you want to switch too.
Replace <charactername> with the name of the character for that channel.

Save that command. Make one of these for each of your characters. You can then bind them so whichever keys you want.
