This is more a question than anything, but I'm trying to learn how to use this software off the video section which has confused me to some degree. For instance he simply hit's I and the macro carries through.. Not so much for myself. It's set as I up for default.. Same problems with all in game commands, broadcast works though.

Check in your wow Addons to make sure the GCP mod is present and enabled.
Then make sure you have run the "do this first" wizard - click "setup" to find this.
If so, you should see xx commands loaded in the chat window during startup (or UI reload).
This number should be about 10-20 depending on which wizards you choose to run.
