It has been a long, hard road to get to this point, but I have finally gotten GCP to work pretty well for me. I have a couple of questions though.

1. When I swap windows making an alt the leader, how do I get the dps group to target off of the new leader. Using the wizard, it makes it so that the window switches, and the follow will now follow the new leader, but it doesnt make them target off of the new leader. What do I need to do to make this happen?

2. Is there a way to import pet spells? If not, is there a way to manually make actions for these spells?

Tell us more please. I'd

Tell us more please.

I'd like to know what you found difficult, so we can make it easier in the future.

1. It should be set up automatically for you. I suspect the fault is that the wizard has chosen the wrong group. If you can send me a dump of your config, I can probably sort in in a minute or so.

To do this:

  • Select views/advanced
  • Check the debug check box
  • Click the preview button
  • MAKE SURE YOU EDIT OUT ANY PASSWORDS
  • Paste the result to an email to

2. No and yes. I forgot about pet spells on import (I play my pets the lazy way - it only wipes me every hour or so!) You can create a command:

<<HunterName>>
Macro /petcast ....

I will

I will send you that data when I get a chance. I will also give you detailed feedback about the program which actually may be useful. At the moment, I have one short question which may be a solution to many things. You told me to put in a macro manually. That isnt a problem as long as I know where it goes. It seems that one of the major problems with gcp is that there is no documentation to tell us what each file does. This program requires a lot of manual editing (which isnt a problem) but makes it very difficult to find what needs to be edited. I have figured out that there is one file that contains a list of keybindings (mostly ctrl characters) for different things. I assume the ingame mod uses this to know what action to perform when the program communicates to it (via these keystrokes). I have also noticed another file witht he different "actions" and what keystroke to hit, etc. Which of these does this go into? or does it go into another file?

On a larger note, it would be super helpful if people knew upfront that gcp takes all kb inputs and filters them, sending only certain ones to the game. An explanation of the bigger picture would be very helpful. Certain things are still a mystery to me, like how I can send my PTT hotkey to ventrillo when necessary. Setting up a boxing system is a collection of 200 problems to be solved. I am probably done with about 100 of them. There are plenty more left, and I will be glad to give you a comprehensive list of issues and suggestions when I am all done

two useful bits of information

You can enter new commands by selecting views/advanced then hitting the new button. Give the command a name, and an edit box will appear. You can type the commands there.

To assign key strokes, select views/keys. You will see a keyboard mimic. Click a blank (grey) key and select the new command. To delete an existing key assignment, click an assigned key and you will be asked if you wish to remove this assignment.

In our first version of our getting started guide, we explained a lot and were criticized for being too technical. I do think that we're missing a few things in the new stuff. Did you find the Wiki?
