Is there a way to prevent channeled spells (like mages' arcane missile) from being cancelled prematurly when using them in a spell rotation together with other classes' spells of shorter duration?

I have 2 mages and a shadowpriest in my dps group, and originally the mages were specced arcane. The long channeling time of arcane missile didn't work in combination with the other classes spells. Arcane missile was stopped mid-channeling, and by recasting the mages ran quickly out of mana. My quickfix was to respecc the mages to fire to avoid spells with long channeling time ...

The quick way would be to edit the spell database to make the spell time equal to the channel time.

The other way is to enter a "pause". To do this:

Click on the toon name as usual.
When the spell database pops up, click cancel
GCP will ask for a gap time.

It will then insert a dummy spell called "space" which will have a time as you entered. You can move / delete this spell as needed.

meh

I would like to do it the quick way, but how? I open the spell database window and enter a new spell duration, but the new value doesn't get saved. Just clicking OK doesn't do the trick, and there are no other options ..?
