So up until now I have been configuring all my commands to use target of my primary toon. The problem with this is that if my primary gets killed I lose the ability to do just about anything.
So I have been reading around on the Wiki and looked into the Group Targeting thing. I am a bit confused though, if I understand this right, if I switch to using target of dps for all my spells then I can do a Window Swap when my main dies and keep playing as normal. All my toons are in the DPS group, which makes things somewhat simple.
But.... If I use target of DPS I need to hit Num Pad 0 every time I select a target? Right now I just select a target and start casting.
Is this the best way to do this?
The idea is that I can window swap to any toon and keep using all my spell configurations as normal, that toon becomes the new shot caller.

Not quite!
You don't select a target - you select a character who NOMINATES the target.
If you press 0,1 then the DPS group will cast on whoever is targeted by character 1
To swap to character 2, just press 0,2 - now the dps will cast on whoever character 2 is targeting.
Basically when you do a window swap, the command does an automatic 0,<n> - where n is the character you swapped to.

p.s I also have a DPS2 - thus I can attack 2 targets (I have petattack linked in so that when I initiate a 2nd attack, the hunter pet tanks it). GCP can swap characters between groups "on the fly" - but walk then run comes to mind for this!
