Used properly, sub groups can revolutionize the way you multibox.
The basic idea is that, in a human operated group (at least one which is better organized than any I’ve been in) people will have roles. These roles (tank, healer(s), DPS) are, in fact, the cornerstone of all MMO teams. GCP is the first game control software to have built in support for this facet of the game.
In the human group, the leader can assign the priority for attacking targets, decide which ones are to be CC’d by who and decide when to start the attack. During the fight, the leader can re-assign roles mid fight, to allow, for instance a hybrid character to move from attacking to heals. Once the tanks health is restored, the hybrid can be put back on DPS. On the other hand, if the tank has self heal capabilities (such as a pally or lock) then the healer can be assigned to DPS to bring the mob down faster.
The GCP sub-group (which we call group for simplicity) allows this to be done by multiboxers. You can now play the game as it’s meant to be played.
There are a number of linked features to allow this. Setup as follows:
1) During profile creation, you place each of your characters in an initial group.
2) The next step is to define who can heal. When you run the “1 Do this first” wizard, it asks you to specify healers in order. Specify your main healer first, then any characters who can heal – in order.
3) Then run the “Heal Spells” wizard and tell the system about your spells. If you have different classes, then you should set up some “Multi spells” such as “Heal1”, Heal2” etc. Each of these simply has the heals for each character in order. You can use the spell sequence editor to generate these multi spells automatically.
4) Crowd control spells are set up using the “Crowd Control” wizard. Again you can use a multi-spell, or spell rotation as a base for this. I also include pet attacks here, so that having a pet “off-tank” is part of my CC logic.
5) Set up your spell rotations to include your potential healers. When the healers are not healing, they will cast their DPS spells. When they are healing, they won’t cast their DPS spells.
Once this is done, fire up the system and press the “.” key and enter a number. This will be the number of characters in the “Heals” group. Any characters from the healer list who are not allocated to the “Heals” group will be placed in the “DPS” group.
Ok – now we’re ready to go.
Find a group of targets. Assign CC targets by using the “Targ->BlockB” command (by default on the NumPad 2 key) and pressing the key corresponding to a character. Do this to assign all the CC roles. Next use the “Targ->BlockA” command (by default on the NumPad 1 key) to assign the targets in priority order. It’s easier to do this backwards, so that the highest priority ends up as the tank target. You can see all this by looking at the target list on the GCP in game display. This takes longer to describe than to do. At this point you’re ready to launch your attack.
Start the CC (default F5) and pull the first target. Use your spell rotation (using the key you defined in the GCP rotations editor) to launch your harmful spells whilst tanking on your main. Use your “HOT On Tank” button (default H - beeps will remind you to refresh). As characters take damage, use your one touch heal keys. (default F8 to F12) The more often you hit them, the bigger the heals. When the first mob goes down, hit the “DPS next” key (default +). The DPS will shift to their next target (which will be flagged with a skull raid icon). Restart the spell rotation. Keep your eye on the CC timers. When the CC timers get low, refresh them. Rinse and repeat.
If your heals are not keeping up, then allocate another one.
All the things you need to watch are on the GCP HUD display. Your scan should be:
1) Check health bars and press heal keys if they are too low
2) Check CC timers and refresh if needed.
3) Check cast bar area. If it’s empty hit the DPS next spell key.
4) If any characters have a red status block, they are under attack, so consider pulling the mob off them.
5) If your health drops below half, allocate an extra healer
When you hear the ding, refresh your HOTs.
When the mob dies, hit DPS next target key. Look for the skull and pick up the tanking.

on do this first step 2, it asks for a healer. My two toons have no healer.
